It all started at Loretto Hospital during our psychiatry rotations. For the first week, we were just two people passing in the hallways—until a legendary five-flight stair climb changed everything. Shonette, dramatically gasping for air at the top, unintentionally set the stage for our first conversation.

A few days later, she casually mentioned her birthday was coming up—with zero plans. Idongesit saw an opportunity and suggested lunch. One meal turned into hours of laughter and conversation, and just like that, something clicked.

What began as a random encounter quickly became something real. A few dates, countless conversations, and a year (plus some change) later, we made it official.

Long-distance? Yep, we did that too—late-night calls, virtual movie nights, even falling asleep mid-conversation. Every mile between us only made us stronger, leading us right to this incredible moment.
