Richard and I are a very high-spirited couple who truly believe that life should be lived to the fullest, with lots of love, laughter, and with no regrets.
We come from complete opposite ends of the track… He is originally from Kingston Jamacia, and I am originally from Philadelphia PA, but discovered that for many years we were often in such proximity of each other both professionally and personally; however, never connect eye-to-eye until Thursday March 17, 2022, at Burlington in Buford GA. Timing clearly is EVERYTHING!
I pulled up to the store and saw a car with the gas cap open and I was torn as to whether I should be a good Samaritan and close it. After running various scenarios through my head of the possible outcomes, I ultimately decided to leave it to avoid any potential conflicts if the owners were to exit the store in the middle of me truly attempting to help.
The store was extremely busy, and I could not find the item I went in to originally get but found a pair of Cinderella looking wedges heals that I wanted to purchase. I got in line but continued to put the shoes on and off trying to again determine if it was worth the time when I heard a deep-rooted voice from behind telling me I had to get them no question. When I turned, I was pleasantly greeted by the most delightful gentlemen. He had an AMAZING smile, and I was uncandidly smitten. We began to talk, which turned into flirtatious laughter. It felt like we had known each other forever… The conversation was so natural and very easy! I felt like Stella from the movie was getting her groove back and before we knew it, we were at the front of the line. I went to check out and called over to my line buddy stating he should come stand by me to ensure my CC went through for my purchase and to my surprise he came quickly by my side. Of course, I had no issues but advised I would stand by him also in case he needed me to support his purchase and we both laughed out loud. Even the cashier made a comment about wishing she had good friends like us and we continued to laugh because in that moment of course we were complete strangers.
As we prepared to leave the store he asked where I had parked and to my surprise, I was next to his car with the gas cap open. I began to tell him how it tormented me lol he then went over to the gas cap and closed it with ease, and we laughed again.
He asked for a hug, and I played coy stating I did not hug strangers. He then made a comment stating he did not understand as we have known each other all our lives. I smiled and we embraced, exchanged numbers and we have been inseparable ever since.
Gods timing is his timing and the brief delay I had encountered with the gas cap was just the pause needed so that the gap of could finally be closed and for Richard and I to finally meet face to face.
We are having our fairytale wedding at the beautiful Oakley on the Lake in Gainesville GA on 7/19/2025. Our ceremony is very unique in many ways and incorporates traditional and non-traditional anecdotes, which actively includes participation from our guests. We want it to be a moment in time to be remembered by all who are in attendance.
