Our Wedding

The story starts two years ago during the peak of internet dating :) After communicating via text and phone and FaceTime for almost two months, Sumant was gracious enough to come to Detroit to meet Shruti for the first time in person. The first date was held at the one and only Ronin Sushi in Royal Oak where Sumant and Shruti engaged in witty conversation and general debauchery. Shortly afterwards while Shruti was doing medical school clinical rotations in Elmira, NY she was able to visit Sumant in his neck of the woods in Edison, NJ where Shruti would eventually meet Sumant's parents who made her feel so welcome and she already felt like she was part of the family. Fast forward to November 2019 when through hard work and the powers of fate and luck, Sumant gets a new job here in the 313 and moves to Detroit. And then on October 31, 2020 when all the ghouls and goblins were out and about, while on a hike to the top of Mount Minsi in the Poconos Mountains in Pennsylvania, Sumant proposed! And now here we are.....the made-to-be couple is thrilled for the next step in their journey and excited to celebrate with you! See you at the wedding!

Our Story

Detroit Metropolitan Airport is about a 30 minute drive to the Hyatt Place/Suburban Collection Showplace as well as Farmington Hills Manor. There are several rental car options at the airport for easy pickup and drop-off. Rideshare services including Uber/Lyft are also available to and from the airport.
