When traveling to Marbella, the recommended airport to fly into is Malaga International Airport (AGP). There are no direct flights from Florida to Marbella, so anyone traveling from the USA will most likely have to take two flights. From there, it is approx. 35-40 min from Malaga to Marbella. You can either take a bus, an Uber, or rent a car to reach Marbella from the airport. I would recommend either taking the bus or renting a car depending on how you plan on spending the rest of your trip in Spain. The bus is the cheapest option and will bring you to the bus station located in Marbella and from there you can easily Uber to your final destination. In Spain, they drive on the right side of the road. For those from the US, this should be relatively easy to navigate. For those from Ireland or England, this may be more challenging if you have never driven on the right side before!
The Malaga Airport Bus Stop is in Terminal 3, just as you walk out of the Arrivals hall. When you come out through the main Arrivals exit doors, walk straight ahead through the courtyard to the road. The bus stops are right there on the road, along with the Ticket Office.
The buses from Malaga Airport to Marbella run from 8.45am to 10.05pm, departing every 20-60 minutes. You can locate the timetable here: https://malaga.avanzagrupo.com/archivos/files/Horarios%202024/1124_noviembre/Horarios%20Aeropuerto_01112024_Ed_01_WEB.pdf
You can book tickets right outside the airport at the ticket office or ahead of time online here:

The trip by bus takes approx. 40 min
There are a lot of wonderful and beautiful cities near Marbella that can be easily reached by car. Some of these include Ronda, Tarifa, Granada, Cordoba, Seville, and Mijas. They range anywhere from 30 min away to 3 hrs away. If you are interested in visiting any of these cities, I would recommend renting a car. If you plan on staying locally, then you do not need to rent a car. You can also look into tours that visit these cities that include a bus trip to the city, but these can cost a couple hundred euros.
While the wedding is located in Manilva, Spain, we HIGHLY recommend staying in the town of Marbella. This is where the bride and groom will be staying and there are a lot of activities and restaurants in this area. (There is not much to do in Manilva.)
If you have friends or family who are also invited to the wedding, the most economical way would be to book a large Airbnb and stay together. If you are looking for which area to book the Airbnb, Old Town or anywhere along the beach is nice. I recommend using the hotels listed below as reference points and look for spots around there. These areas will allow you to be within walking distance of restaurants, shopping, and activities. If you are in a smaller group/pair and are not interested in an Airbnb, your options include staying at a hotel/resort in Marbella. Some nice options include the Amare Marbella, El Fuerte, The Hotel Lima, and La Villa Marbella. The links are located below!
