Arriving In Toronto

You will probably be flying into Toronto Pearson Airport as this is the primary international airport. There is also Billy Bishop Airport (eg if you're flying from somewhere closer by). Billy Bishop is located in Downtown Toronto so getting an Uber will be easy and relatively cheap.

Transport

We live in Downtown Toronto and the wedding is at Ancaster Mill in Ancaster, about 50 minutes away. If you are planning to arrive early and stay in Toronto first, we recommend an Uber ($40 - $70 depending on traffic). There is the UP Express (train) which is pretty easy and around $12, but if you're jetlagged/unfamiliar with the city/sharing an Uber, then that will be easier. I wouldn't recommend renting a car (people from other countries) bc driving in Toronto is particularly hectic, it's the right side of the road and if there is snow/ice that will be extra challenging. Parking is also a nightmare. So all around, would not recommend. Sid and I will be staying in Ancaster December 5th, 6th and maybe 7th, with family for the rehearsal dinner etc. Ancaster is cute and quaint and old by colonial standards so if you're interested in spending a few days, that will probably be logistically easier.

In terms of getting to Ancaster, depending on people's plans we can look into getting transport from Toronto/carpooling/trains etc once we have numbers.

Weather

December will be cold (for non Canadians) so make sure you have layers and your warmest coat. Don't forget socks, gloves, hats, earmuffs, scarves etc.

Accommodation

We live in Liberty Village on the West Side of Downtown, for reference, if you want to stay around where we are. If you want something more exciting, the Downtown core has a lot to offer in terms of bars, restaurants and shopping but can be a bit more gritty. The East side can be quieter and a bit more peaceful if that's what you're looking for. If you're not Canadian and want our thoughts on a place you're looking at staying, ask away!
