Sidney's Point of View: In the Spring of 2023, Cole made the bold decision to follow and message me on Instagram. While I was unsure, my friend Logan pushed me to give him a chance. Logan knew Cole from Gold's Gym and assured me he would be good for me. After a couple of months of talking back and forth, Cole asked me to attend a VMI baseball game at The Flying Squirrels stadium. Little did we know that this date would be the last first date either of us went on! In all honesty, I don't remember the game at all, but I do remember the butterflies and that my cheeks hurt at the end of the night from smiling so much. About a week after this first date, I had a really tough day at work, and Cole surprised me at my apartment with flowers, a bottle of wine, and dinner plans. We went to Legend's Brewing Company and sat outside looking over the city. We talked about everything and anything, and it was then that I knew I had found my person. I sent a picture of him to Logan with the caption "I'm going to marry this man." Little did I know, almost three years later we would be planning our wedding!As we continued to date, we realized that we had crossed paths practically our whole lives, but just missed each other. The first time I met Cole's parents, we discovered that my mom and his parents went to High School together, my grandfather and his uncle worked closely together, our dads played softball against each other, I played softball and basketball with his cousin, my aunt and uncle live three houses away from his parents' house, and we have been at the same baseball fields, concerts, and festivals around Richmond many times! Between finding out all of these fun facts and spending time with his family, I was even more sure about this being just the beginning of our story!Over time, we continued to go on dates and fall in love in the best way possible. I have continuously described our relationship as childlike in that we goof around and laugh more than either of us has in years! We laugh more than we don't, and we have become the best of friends, the missing piece we've both been looking for, and the partners we have prayed for! While we have crossed paths before, we were brought together at the best and most meaningful time to begin writing our forever story!
