On 10/15/2021 I (Sierra) received a notification on snap chat for a friend request. I accepted not knowing who the person was but I did some Facebook investigating. I seen a man who had a child and what looked to be a family. I did not send a snap because out of respect I didn’t know his story. A couple days went by and I received a snap from Adam. That’s when our story started.

He told me all about his life, things that happened & all about his son Bentley. It wasn’t until weeks later I met Bentley for the first time. He was a spunky, funny, loving little 5 year old boy who melted my heart.

Adam was a secret I kept from many people as I was to him. He started to bring me around more and more people introducing me as “his lesbian friend.” Those who know Adam know this is exactly who he is. A jokester! I went along with it but it wasn’t long until that fell through. Adam went and met my friends and family who he was introduced to as my friend. In the times to come everyone knew it was more than that. His friends and mine both stated “you love him” or “you love her” or my favorite “you need her!” just admit it already! The reality was I needed them just as much!

We fell in love fast and unexpectedly. We had talked about marriage and life together in the coming years. What we wanted, what we planned, and our goals.

One day we randomly decided to make it official and sign the paper. No one knew of this but for Olivia and Derck. We surprised everyone by doing this but WE knew what WE wanted. If you know me or him you know we are spur of the moment and rush to get things done! In doing so we didn’t have a “actual” wedding.

We were married on 10/15/2022 exactly a year after the request was sent. On my way home from a hair appointment I stopped at the soccer field where Olivia signed & Derck signed the same night at the Gun Raffle in the parking lot. Biggest kept secret we ever had!
