Meghan Higgins - Matron of Honor
Meghan and I have known each other since we were five years old. We became best friends in our junior year of high school at Christian Heritage. We have a very unique friendship and an inseparable bond. After we graduated high school we spent a month together in Puerto Rico doing mission work. Our time in Puerto Rico is something I look back at often and smile. Meghan and I have been through it all together. From living without power for a week, chasing iguanas around the kitchen, dancing in the rain, singing our hearts out to the Lord, crying with each other, praying for each other, and the list goes on. Meghan is the most fiercely loyal friend anyone could have. I love her more than she knows and am forever thankful for her. I can't wait to stand by her side as she marries her best friend, and I can't wait to have her by my side as I marry mine.
Sarah Stokes - Maid of Honor
Sarah and I have been friends since we were born. She was probably my first friend I ever had. We grew up going to church together, school together, spending the night at each other's houses, and going on mission trips. I have always been so encouraged by Sarah's walk with the Lord. It pushed me to pursue my own walk with the Lord in so many different ways. Sarah is the kind of person you can always call when you need to talk. She always has something kind to say. She has danced (literally) through this life with more grace than anyone I know. I am so thankful to have been able to grow up with her. Through every different stage of life, Sarah has been there with me. God truly blessed me by giving me Sarah as a lifelong friend, and I couldn't imagine doing anything, much less get married, without Sarah Stokes by my side.
Savannah Dixon - Bridesmaid
Savannah and I grew up being the most competitive girls out there. Our brothers never took it easy on us and it shows. If I could pick anyone to be on my team to play basketball, soccer, or any other sport she would be my first call. We were the girls of the house, but we wrestled like boys, and it is probably just through the prayers of our sweet momma that we never caused any serious damage to each other or the house. Being sisters you go through a lot together and I wouldn't want to have my wedding without her. She is the person I am the most unafraid to be weird in front of. I know that no matter what I say or do she isn't going anywhere. She has always been my hype woman! She makes me feel like I can do anything in the world I put my mind to. I am thankful for her!
Rachel Joost - Bridesmaid
Rachel has made me feel welcomed and loved since the first day I met her. When I went to the Joost house for the first time I was a little (okay a lot) nervous, and Rachel immediately befriended me. Since then Rachel and I have become better and better friends. She feels things deeply, laughs hard, and loves others well. It has been such a joy of mine to watch her as she graduated high school and started college. I am forever thankful for all of our late nights talking about Jesus, life, and everything under the sun. I can't wait to be SISTERS!
Ashlyn Joost - Bridesmaid
Ashlyn is the life of the party and always down to dance around the living room. If you know me, you know these are things I deeply value in a person. I am so glad that she likes to cuddle as much as I do. I am so thankful for her and our wonderful memories we have and the memories to come. I couldn't be more thankful for that she is Parker's sister that doubles as my friend. Ashlyn is beautiful and smart. I can't wait to have her by my side on my wedding day when we become SISTERS!
Marlee Ellis - Bridesmaid
Marlee and I have been friends since kindergarten, but since we graduated high school Marlee has become one of my closest friends. I am so thankful for her friendship and our sweet memories that range from lake trips, making the four-hour drive to each other's school to spend the weekend, to taking a spontaneous trip to Colorado. Marlee has faced more hardship than most and has done so with a smile. Marlee is the kind of friend that knows how to make you feel special and I couldn't imagine doing such a special day without her.
Caroline Jenkins - Bridesmaid
Caroline came to Christian Heritage our junior year of high school, and I am so thankful! It feels like we have known each other a lot longer than that. Caroline is clearly beautiful on the outside. That is no question, but her inside is even more beautiful. Her smile can light up a room. I am so thankful for her. One of our most recent memories we have together, and one I treasure is when Caroline made the long drive to Statesboro and spent the weekend with me for my 21st birthday. We danced the night away and I can't wait for all of the celebrations to come with her. I can't wait to have her by my side in celebration of Parker and I.
Laura Harris - Bridesmaid
Laura is someone very special to me. She is one of those people that just truly gets me. She understands what I am feeling before I can find the words to tell her. Laura and I have known each other since sophomore year of high school. We have spent countless hours in coffee shops talking about the Lord, wondering where the Lord was going to take us, encouraging each other, and praying for each other. It is truly amazing for us to look back on our first time getting coffee four years ago and seeing how much the Lord has done in our lives since then. I can only imagine how crazy it will be to look back on our lives 4 years from now. I look forward to that coffee date.
Kate Mullen - Bridesmaid
Kate and I met our freshmen year of college and are now roommates. Kate has very quickly become one of my closest friends. She serves others with a joyful heart. Kate can often be found throwing an engagement party, a birthday party, or any other occasion for her friends. She doesn't do anything half-heartedly. Most of us are greatly indebted to her for all of the things she does for us. Kate is someone I feel like I can tell anything to. I am so thankful for all of the mornings we have spent in our living room getting in the word, our Three Tree dates, dance parties in the kitchen, and so much more. I have probably spent more time with Kate than anyone else this year and I count that as a blessing. I couldn't plan the wedding without her and I couldn't imagine not having her by my side on the day of the wedding.
Madelyne Funk - Bridesmaid
I just need to start off by saying that I have Madelyne Funk to thank for so many things. She was my freshmen year Bible study leader. She introduced me to pretty much all of my college friends. She even introduced me to Parker, which I am forever thankful for. Madi and I are roommates, we worked together as baristas, dated best friends, and are now engaged to best friends. I couldn't be more thankful that God put Madi in my life. I am so excited to stand by her side as she gets married and I can't wait to have her by my side as I get married. Madi and I will both be living in Warner Robins because that is where our finances work, so we have many more memories to come!
