It’s funny how life works. I still remember the crazy halls of high school, where Jake and I were just two passing ships, our paths never quite crossing. We exchanged a few messages on Facebook years after high school, but nothing ever came of it. It felt like fate had a different plan for us, one that would unfold years later.


In 2019, I found myself stepping into his gym, and that’s when everything changed. I was on my own journey towards fitness, but little did I know I was also stepping into the beginning of something beautiful. We started chatting more, and I could feel a spark between us, a connection that was undeniable. But then came 2020, and the world as we knew it turned upside down. When the gym closed, we didn’t let that stop us. Instead, we found a new meeting place—the local track.


It was there that our love story truly began. With each meet-up he pushed the group beyond measure and it was like a love/hate relationship when it came to working out but I appreciated him for this and our friendship blossomed into something deeper. I still remember those moments vividly, where we shared our dreams and hopes while the world around us slowed down. It was pure magic.


Then came April 21, 2022, a day that changed everything. We welcomed our beautiful son, Jaylen, who became the light of our lives. I never knew love could grow even deeper until I became a mother with Jake by my side. Together, we navigated the joys and challenges of parenthood, and each day only strengthened our bond.


Fast forward to August 2024, when Jake surprised me with a trip back to one of our favorite getaway spots in Washington, D.C. As we walked through the memories of that beautiful city, he took my hand, dropped to one knee, and asked me to be his forever. My heart raced, and with the most shocked look, I said yes, ready to embrace all that our future holds together.


Our love story is a beautiful reminder of how fate can guide us, even through unexpected twists and turns. From high school strangers to life partners, Jake and I are excited for this new chapter, filled with shared dreams, laughter, and the joys of family.
