Our Wedding

Our story started in 2018 while we were both attending graduate school in Springfield, MO. Zach was getting his Masters degree in Communications while being a graduate assistant for Drury's swim team. Sierra was pursuing her Doctorate of Physical Therapy at Missouri State University. Sierra was celebrating her golden birthday with friends at Finnegan's Wake where she met Zach. A month after we met, we went on our first date at 417 Taphouse that consisted of chicken and waffles, Connect Four, and lots of laughs. We instantly connected and talked for 6 hours until we were kicked out at closing time. We continued to pursue each other while Zach was starting his coaching career and Sierra was traveling for clinical rotations.

Our Story

In March 2020, we moved in together in downtown Springfield. COVID-19 immediately shut everything down and we spent the next couple of months together in a 600 square foot loft. We played lots of ping pong, Mario Cart, and cooked elaborate meals together during this time. This is when Zach honed in on mastering the Mai Tai and Sierra dominated playing Catan with rolling an unreasonable amount of sevens.

Fast forward to 2022, we moved into a different house in Springfield and decided it was time to expand our family. We rescued our first pup, Bernie, and quickly decided we wanted another. We adopted our second pup, Dack, a month later. Bernie is a big, fluffy baby who is protective of his people and Dack is a sweet, little man who loves to snuggle. The boys completed our little family and we couldn't imagine life without them.

In the fall of 2023, we moved to Minnesota and started the next chapter of our lives. We rented a house in Minneapolis, started new jobs, and got to explore a new state. We love spending our time riding our bikes around the lakes, watching all of the sporting events or trying a new beer on tap at Wooden Ship Brewing Company, while the pups soak up the weather and play in the snow. We have made many friends, memories, and continued to grow our relationship together.

On March 22, 2025, Zach got down on one knee in Minneapolis, MN by the Mississippi River and asked Sierra if she would marry him! After coming back from a brief blackout, Sierra said "yes" and now their love story will continue forever!
