The Impact of Weddings

The average wedding in the United States costs over $33,000, creates 400 lbs of trash and 63 tons of carbon dioxide (Harrison, Kate L., The Green Bride Guide). Being intentional about our special day, and focusing on the health of our planet is incredibly important to us, and we wanted to share with you some ways that we are creating our special day to be more minimal and sustainable.

-Ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception will all be held in the same location to reduce travel time and fuel emissions.

-We will have recyclable baggies for leftover donuts, and encourage you to take any leftover cake as well, as it cannot be donated!

-Many of our floral arrangements are rented via Something Borrowed Blooms, an environmentally conscious rental company that specializes in silk wedding florals.

- We are blessed with the necessities of everyday life, and have spent time delegating what items we truly need for our household. We appreciate the gift of your time spent more than any material goods. However, we would like to note that contributing to our wedding experience or honeymoon would mean the world to us!
