Larger than the 'one resort' islands of the Maldives but still not much bigger than Surrey, Mauritius is an Indian Ocean escape with something extra. East of Madagascar, this lush island is more than just white sands – although there's no denying that these are some of the moststunning beaches in the world.The island is surrounded by a huge reef sheltering the shallow lagoons, whose waters meet a shoreline of sugar white beaches. These lead to sugar cane plains, waterfall pools and forests of ebony and eucalyptus, before finally reaching the peaks of bare and broken rocks that make a moonscape of the mountains. Mauritius plays host to a number of world class hotels, as well as<a href="http://www.kuoni.co.uk/mauritius/mauritius-family-holidays">family-friendly resorts</a>. Accommodation options are widespread around the coastline, though there are considerably less resorts on the island's south coast.Away from its beaches, Mauritius bursts with historic sights, cultural diversity and natural attractions. Take a dip beneath cascading waters at Tamarin Falls – a beautiful natural collection of waterfalls in southwest Mauritius, which, though awkward to get to, are well worth a visit. Black River Gorges is Mauritius' sole national park – a wild area of thick indigenous forest in the central highlands that is home to over 300 plant species and rare bird life. Or if it's plain relaxation you're seeking, the spas here are heavenly.And the cities are a delight, too. The capital of Port Louis has an international atmosphere, with its bustling streets and intoxicating smell of spices and fresh tea leaves. Central Market is best for an exciting market experience, with hawkers representing all of the island's ethnic groups selling leather goods, meat, sweet foods, herbal teas, and an exotic array of fruit and vegetables. The market is open daily from 6am – and it's advisable to get there early. Mahebourg is one of the main fishing villages on the island. Built on the magnificent Grand Port Bay, it was founded in 1804 by the French Governor Charles Decaën. The Monday markets are among the biggest on the island and are held right next to the main bus station. Grand Baie in the north is far more cosmopolitan and a popular option for eating, drinking and shopping.For cultural entertainment, spend an evening entranced by the historically significant Sega – a rousing dance with vibrant flowing fabrics and uplifting music, originally sung by slaves. And the food here is divine, with the melting pot of cultures creating multi-cultural concoctions as well as local seafood dishes and palm heart salad.It is testament to Mauritius and its hotels that you could easily spend a week here on an <a href="http://www.kuoni.co.uk/mauritius/mauritius-all-inclusive-holidays">all inclusive holiday</a> and not leave your resort; or you could venture out and explore somewhere new every day. Mother of the Groom!Scott's lovely mummy has booked up and we are very much looking forward to flying out with them!!!!! She is brilliant at Linkee (great game - may need to pack it), makes delish roast potatoes, loves a lychee Martini and is great at guessing the scores for a strictly come dancing performance! Good skill! Oh and I recently discovered also crochet queen, even made a pair of flip flops! Love it.

Father of the Groom!Pops has booked to fly out with us! whoop woo!He is fab at DIY and has worked on/consulted on 3 homes over the last 12 months alone! Good work pops! He loves a bit of ebay action he makes a fantastic fruit flan and enjoys swimming!

Mother of the brideThe lovely mummy Gohil will be joining the celebrations! whoop!She cooks amazing veggie curries and loves taking food requests as this her way of making you feel welcome and loved. She has a beautiful smile and a fab sense of humour and has been super supportive and flexible during all the wedding planning.So proud of her resilience and positivity no matter what life throws at her. Testament to the lovely family she grew up in and who continue to support her!!!

Brother of the brideHe is super friendly, a good listener and great at bringing people together! Loves eating and his speciality dish is spicy baked beans. :-) You will always know when Nick is around as he loves singing various songs, often made up! :-)

She is driven and determined with a focus on learning and self improvement. A great cook, fantastic at organising events and fab at sourcing wedding suppliers for both me and Tina! She loves a headset but sadly neither myself or Tina will let her have one. LolThank you for getting the family booked on this trip! :-

Nimu masi is Silpa's mum's sisterAnother good cook, it is clearly in the Korya blood! My fav Nimu masi dishes are chitako and jera chicken! She loves cracking jokes and has a great laugh! She loves a natter, she brings the banter and party to any occasion and we love her enthusiasm for life!

Silpa's mum's brother-in-lawDaya masa loves his wife's home cooked curries, is always up for a good laugh and is a fan of deal or no deal! Good choice - one of Scott's fav shows too!

Uschi is like family as she is like a sister to Gill (Scott's mum). They have had the pleasure of living on the same street almost 30years watching their lovely children grow up together and supporting each other through the tapestry of life. We always love catching up with Uschi as her open and positive outlook on life makes us feel welcome.

She is super creative and loves making crafty things like prop's for cousin's bdays and wedding invitations. She is equally as creative in the kitchen inventing all sort of baked goods and delish quesadilla. She loves to boogie and you should ask her about the dance she choreographed and danced to at my uncle's wedding! LOLS! fun times!Tina will be getting married on 23rd October 2016 and has kindly agreed to tie in attending our wedding with her honeymoon plans. Thanks for that and all the shopping for our Indian wedding celebrations!

Paz will be on his honeymoon with my sister Tina! eeeeeekkkkkPaz loves eating anything and his un-fussy nature means he can accidentally eat stuff that is not quite cooked yet! lolslove his easy going, laid back nature and sense of humour! Good edition to the family.

A very good friend, Amneet is always there for me, backs my decisions 100%, she knows me well and always reminds me of the things I have to be grateful and proud of.
I remember spending hours on the landline when we were at school talking about all the things that we were passionate about and curious about how life would pan out for us due to our non-traditional attitudes and free spirit mindsets. Whilst we are both
    busy with life when we see each other now it easily slips back into that comfortable place that true friendship does, no judgement, no jealousy, no expectations just lots of banter.

Harish mama and Jaya mami have booked to join us! woop wooo! We got the news whilst in a shop buying our wedding bands (which we thought we had left too late to buy!) a story which i will treasure forever! This memory will join a bank of fun memories of mama and mami building their business into a local success with their entrepreneurial flair and letting us get involved in the shop and watching awesome films on Video. 'Hey Hari can I have a Jubliey?'

My mami is joining us! wooopp woooo! When I took Scott to meet my mama and mami as usual mami was super welcoming and treated Scotty to lots of lovely home made potato curry. I remember when we were little mami would always make sure we were fed well and we loved the shopping trips and ice cream treats! Listening to both of them re-tell stories of making the shop a success makes me realise how much mami supported mama's dreams and made them possible.
