Simon and Amaya’s journey began in 2020 when Simon stumbled upon Amaya’s Instagram—his first thought was, “Wow, she’s amazing!” At that time, neither was looking for a relationship, but fate had other plans in store. Their initial conversations started off like a slow-loading website—buffering, yet full of promise. Trusting in God’s perfect timing, they knew that when the moment was right, everything would click into place.

Fast forward a year, and their paths crossed again. This time, Simon was armed with determination and a healthy dose of charm, refusing to let Amaya slip away. One night, he called her, and they ended up talking for hours—it felt so natural and easy, as if they had known each other forever. As they chatted more, they uncovered countless similarities—like a cosmic coincidence or the universe’s way of saying, “Hey, you two belong together!” Intrigued by their undeniable connection, they set their first date for July 31, 2021. It was a classic case of love at first sight… or maybe second, since they were already well-acquainted via social media.

Just a few months later, they took the big leap and moved in together in a cozy San Francisco home. Here, they began building their life, exploring the city and uncovering hidden gems—from breathtaking views to delightful restaurants and exciting concerts. And let’s not forget their monthly Disneyland escapades—who knew adulthood could be so much fun?

In the summer of 2023, God nudged them to move closer to family, leading them to Walnut Creek. They continued to relish spontaneous city adventures and, of course, their beloved Disney trips, proving they could still act like kids at heart—even while navigating adult responsibilities like rent.

Then came the moment they had both been waiting for. On December 24, 2023, surrounded by family in the backyard of Amaya's childhood home, Simon decided it was finally time to pop the question. With the kind of excitement usually reserved for winning the lottery, he got down on one knee and asked Amaya to marry him. Without skipping a beat, she said “yes”—a response as easy as pie, because they both knew they were destined to be together for the long haul.
