Q + A

What is the dress attire?

The dress attire for the wedding is Black Tie . For women, a floor-length gown, a fancy cocktail dress, or a dressy pantsuit. For men, a tuxedo, or a formal dark suit, white shirt, and tie. We ask that you do not wear white, ivory, or cream colored outfits (i.e. white dresses or suits) as white, ivory, or cream are colors in the color wheel traditionally reserved for the bride.

Can I bring my kids?

If your children are specifically named on the invitation, then they are invited to attend. If they do not have an invitation in their name, unfortunately they will not be invited. We have a very limited number of seats and could not make space for everyone.

Can I take pictures during the ceremony to post on social media?

We will be having an unplugged ceremony and ask that you keep your phones and cameras put away while at the church . We will have an amazing crew of photographers and videographers that will be capturing every moment of the day and we do not want cameras and phones blocking all the important shots and we want to be in the moment with all of you. We promise to share all the photos and the wedding video with you all.

When is the RSVP deadline?

For our South African friends and family, you must RSVP by February 16, 2024. All South African RSVPs will be done online via the wedding website. For our non-South African guests, please RSVP by February 16, 2024. You may RSVP via the wedding website OR via mail with the return RSVP card.

Do you have a wedding registry?

Yes, we do have an online wedding registry that is set up to have the item directly mailed to our house in Florida. We kindly ask that you do not bring physical gifts to the wedding as we are unable to bring gifts back with us due to limited luggage space. We also have a Honeymoon Fund, which is a fund that allows you to contribute to our honeymoon and we can collect cards on site. We are registered at Amazon, Pottery Barn, and theknot.com.

What is your wedding hashtag?

#PappilyEverAfter

I'm visiting from out of town. What can I do while I'm in Cape Town?

We will be getting married in the Cape Winelands which is a tourist destination. There are couple of ways to do wine tastings in the Cape Winelands. You can take the Franschhoek Wine Tram or you can Uber. There are LOTS of wine farms (the South African name for wineries/vineyards). Our venue is a working wine farm so you can start with wine tasting on site. If you make time to spend more time in Cape Town, you can visit the beautiful beaches, go on a game drive/safari, hike or take the cable car to Table Mountain, visit the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront and take a sunset cruise, Boulder Beach to see the penguins, fishing trips, golfing, and if you are a foodie - Cape Town has some of the best food in the world. We will be working with a travel agent to set up some excursions that you can opt into before or after the wedding.

How do I get to the wedding venue?

The ceremony will be at a church and there will be transportation provided from the wedding venue/hotel to the church and back. Seats in the shuttles are limited and you will be asked to preference if you would like to take the provided transportation. If you would like to find your own transportation, you can Uber or drive your own car.

What will the weather be like?

April in Cape Town is Autumn and should be beautiful weather. I would anticipate the weather to be high of 77 degrees F/25 degree C and low of 59 degrees F/ 15 degrees C. Bring an umbrella or raincoat just to be prepared. Make sure to check the weather before you pack! Most people say you can experience all 4 season in a day in Cape Town.
