It all started with a swipe. Skye had just moved back to Katy to start student teaching and her best friend convinced her to create a Tinder account. Wallace was living in Hockley at the time and we happened to match! After talking for some time online, we finally decided to meet for our first date on Valentine's Day of 2018 and things just fell into place.
When did you know they were the one?
If you ask Skye... Fast forward to March (Rodeo time) and we are ready to take the next step in our relationship... Meeting the Fam! We happen to meet up with my family and all is well until we realized I didn't have the car keys. Those who know me, know that I wear my heart on my sleeve and was very upset at the time. However, when I turned to Wallace, he responded in the most calm and composed manner. He was such a gentleman offering to hold my boots as we walked what seemed like miles to find the missing keys. We searched all around the Rodeo grounds, but to no avail. That's when I realized Wallace was the one that could handle my crazy, would keep me grounded, and was the one I want to spend the rest of my life with.
If you ask Wallace... Where do I even begin? It's impossible for me to tell you just one moment because there were many. The first time I saw Skye she was breathtaking, and my heart would not stop pounding. I was so nervous! Somehow I made it through our first date and to my surprise she wanted to go on another and the rest is history. Through many car rides blaring rock music, talking for hours, her obsession with crawfish, her passion, energy, and love throughout our years I knew she was the one I wanted to spend the rest of my life with.
In May of 2023, Wallace and Skye were walking around the Houston Arboretum and Nature Center taking in the beautiful the scenery. There happened to be a perfect little spot next to the water that they wandered around to when Wallace got down on one knee and asked Skye if she would marry him! After coming back to reality, she said YES!
