Is there a dress code?
Semi-formal or Cocktail. Think about what you would wear to a special dinner at a fancy restaurant. Some things to think about when choosing your outfit: Ladies, heels are not too dressy for the occasion, but friendly reminder that the venue will have you walking primarily in grass. Gentlemen, don't feel like you have to ditch that suit you save in the back of your closet for this exact type of event, but do remember that it is May in Texas and the average temperature even after the sun goes down is 80 degrees. To everyone, what we really want is for you to take part in this special day and help us celebrate and dance the night away, so keep these things in mind when picking an outfit!
Are kids welcome?
We don't want to turn anyone away from the party, so your little ones are invited. Things to think about: the travel distance is at minimum a few hours for all of our guests, including us. Both the ceremony and the reception will be held outdoors, and though this was already mentioned in the Q&A section, it is May in Texas. Due to the inevitable heat, the day of the wedding (a Saturday), the time of year, the time the sun sets, the yearning to party all night long, etc. etc., the wedding will be in the afternoon and last well into the evening. There will be an open bar at the event, which of course will be monitored, but something to keep in mind depending on your feelings about having your child around alcohol/people consuming. Lastly, the wedding will be taking place on a lake, where the water is immediately and easily accessible. With these things in mind, we'd like to remind everyone that your children are absolutely more than welcome to come, but that their safety is our number one priority and ultimately it is your decision whether or not you think it is best for your little ones to attend this event.
Can I bring a plus one?
Your spouses and dates are welcome to attend our wedding as your plus one, even if they are not already listed in your party when you RSVP on the website. All we ask is that they are listed appropriately/named when you RSVP for yourself, so that we can account for every guest attending. That goes for people in your party that are children as well.
Do you have a hotel block/where do you recommend I stay?
If you are planning on staying the night in Sheridan after the wedding we do not have a hotel block for guests or anything else booked, but we do have some recommendations. They are listed in the travel section of our website. Please keep in mind your plans for the weekend, staying or going, when you enjoy the party. If you have any questions, concerns or are finding it hard to locate a place to stay for the night/weekend, please feel free to contact Skylar!
When is the latest I can RSVP?
We ask that the absolute latest you respond, by either mail or website, be April 11th. If we haven't heard from you by that date, you will be marked as “not attending.” Please RSVP for everyone in your party, including all children attending and plus ones.
