Our Love Story

Drake and Skylar met during the first week of classes at Ripon college in August of 2018 through some mutual friends. Drake had been on campus for football for about a month already at that time to begin practice and get settled in. Skylar's freshman year roommate had been on campus for about a month prior as well for a program on campus she was participating in and had met Drake and some of his friends during this time. Skylar's roommate suggested that Skylar meet Drake and his friends to meet new people before the semester started. After this initial meeting, Skylar and Drake began hanging out with and without mutual friends more and more. They would meet to do homework, watch movies, and to just talk to get know each other more. Drake and Skylar started dating October 27th, 2018 and the love has flourished ever since! On May 16th, 2020, Skylar was visiting Drake and his family in Missouri after not seeing each other for about 3 months due to COVID-19 shutting down campus. Skylar, Drake, and his family were playing our favorite card game, peanuts (thanks, Anni!) when Drake proposed to Skylar! Skylar of course said yes! (after she asked if he had asked her mom first, lol!). Skylar and Drake have been through so many milestones together! Graduating with their Bachelors at Ripon College, Skylar starting at and graduating from Viterbo University with her Masters in Nursing, adopting and being completely infatuated with their sweet weenie, Morty, and starting over in a new city for Drake to pursue his further education of Orthotics and Prosthetics at Century College! They cannot wait for this new chapter together as one and look forward to celebrating their love of one another with the people closest to them!
