It was June of 2023, Skylar had just returned home fresh off her mission from Brazil. About a week later she traveled out to Rexburg Idaho to surprise visit her younger sister Hailey who was attending BYU-I.

Hailey was going through the temple for the first time, and Skylar and her older sister Nicolette went out to be there for her on that special day. They didn't realize that Hailey had invited some of her good friends to be there as well. Skylar quickly noticed one of Hailey's friends, Preston, and thought he was really cute. Nicolette must have thought so too because soon after meeting him she asked Hailey why she hadn't already tried setting Skylar and Preston up!

After Preston came out of the temple, Niko seized the opportunity to ask him to join us for dinner afterwards! Preston looked over his schedule and said that he couldn't make it. And that was that! Skylar didn't think much about it and the siblings and some friends went out to dinner.

The next day was Sunday, and Skylar joined Hailey to visit her young adult ward on campus. Preston ended up sitting right next to Skylar in their row.

After sacrament meeting ended, Skylar turned to Hailey and said "Hey, we should check out your friend Preston's lesson. He said he's teaching today." So they went and sat at the very front row for Preston's lesson.

It was Fathers Day and Preston was talking about his Dad and his family, Skylar thought that they sounded amazing! But she was even more amazed to see a young college student talk so sweetly about his

father, family and their lives.

Throughout the lesson Skylar kept thinking to herself "I cannot wait to come up to school and date guys just like him!"

Fast forward to January 2024, and Skylar ended up by moving into that same apartment complex, and by happenstance the same ward!

The semester went on and after ward prayer one Sunday Preston and Skylar happened to be sitting next to each other when Preston mentioned that he goes to the gymnastics gym every week just to goof off. Skylar thought that sounded fun, and told him she would be interested in going sometime.

The next week, was their ward Valentine's Day party. Preston and Skylar were able to talk for a while and realized they had some things in common!

The next day Skylar reached out to Preston and asked if he would be down to hang out. He said yes and they planned to go to the open gym at the gymnastics place Preston had told Skylar about. Skylar then realized that that date would have landed on Valentine's day, which she thought would be weird for a first date. So they decided they would go on their date the following week.

A few days later, they were texting and realized they were both sick. Preston suggested that they be sick together, and have a sick party! About an hour later, Preston shows up at Skylar's doorstep with a can of soup and a box of tissues. They spent the night together watching 'While you were sleeping" (with Sandra Bullock) but really just talked and got to know one another through the whole thing.

From that day on Skylar invited Preston to just about every hangout or social gathering and they quickly became inseparable.

On March 5th 2024 they officially started dating and have spent pretty much every single day together since that day! Now they look forward to May 31st 2025 where they will be married and united for time and all eternity! :)
