Chicago public transportation relies on two main service providers. The CTA refers to the local 'L' color train lines (blue, red, orange, brown, green, etc.) that connect to the airports, neighborhoods, and downtown. CTA passes are also used for the buses, and 1 swipe of a pass is good for transferring between trains and buses for a couple hours to complete your trip. The Metra trains are longer haul double decker trains that travel out to the suburbs from Chicago Union Station. You can manage CTA and Metra passes if you download the Ventra app on your phone. Metra passes can be purchased directly from the app. To load CTA passes on the app, you must first buy a physical CTA card at a machine at one of the stations; you can then reload your pass from the app (or just buy disposable 1 time use or day passes).

Two Brothers Roundhouse in Aurora is located directly next to the Metra BNSF passenger train line. This train line runs from Chicago Union Station to Aurora and is a perfect option for traveling to the wedding if you would prefer to get lodgings in Downtown Chicago. If you choose this travel option, you MUST take the 10:33 AM train #2009 (they only run every 1-2 hours on Sunday mornings) to arrive in time for the ceremony at 12:30 PM. Tickets must be purchased in advance (online or at the station). For your return trip, the trains run once an hour in the evening (see timetables below), and we must be out of the reception by 6:00 PM sharp. Of course, there is a whole brewery attached and Hollywood Casino Aurora within walking distance (9 minutes, 0.4 miles) if you are looking for somewhere else to wait/hang out! Last train leaves Aurora at 11:05 PM.

The CTA Blue Line runs directly from O'Hare airport to downtown Chicago. One of the Blue Line stops lets off at Clinton, a 6 min 0.3 mile walk from Chicago Union Station if you want to stay somewhere close to both the Metra and CTA for easy travel from the airports, downtown, and the venue!

The CTA Orange Line runs directly from Midway airport to downtown Chicago. One of the Orange Line stops lets off at Quincy, an 8 min 0.4 mile walk from Chicago Union Station if you want to stay somewhere close to both the Metra and CTA for easy travel from the airports, downtown, and the venue! There are also buses that run the last leg of this route to Union Station.
