Arriving in italy

Picture of Arriving in italy

In terms of getting to Italy, there are 2 airports in Milan you can fly to.

The closest airport in Milan is Malpensa which is 1 hour and 20 minutes drive away or you can fly to Linate which is 1 hour and 30 minute drive away.

Flights going to Malpensa and Linate are from London Heathrow and Gatwick.

We do advise you to book the flights as soon as possible to get the best rates.

Renting a Car

It is relatively easy to arrange car hire from Malpensa or Linate airports when you arrive.

It is not a particularly difficult drive from either airports, most of the drive is on the motorway.

On our many trips to Como we have hired a car from the airport when we land using Sixt. (Please pre book this before you arrive.) Sixt is great as you can hire from one airport and drop off at another which we have experienced.

Trains to Como

If you don't want to drive, you can also catch a train from Milano Centrale Railway Station which usually takes 2 hours to Lake Como.

Hotel Centrale

There are a number of hotels to choose from in Como, however we advise to try and stay in or close to Cernobbio, for ease on our wedding day.

There are 2 hotels that we recommend for you to stay at:

Hotel Centrale & Hotel Asnigo which are both a short distance from our wedding venue.

Please note there is limited availability on a first come, first serve basis.

Alternatively, if you prefer to hire and stay in a villa there are many available on booking.com that you can look into.
