June, 2021

After knowing each other since 2017 from playing in the worship band together at church, it was playing in a mutual friend's band in June of 2021 that brought us closer than ever.

From there, it was months of spending time together every day; countless beach days, glasses of our favorite wine, after-church lunches, movie nights, concerts, laughs, shared Spotify playlists, and late night ice cream trips when feelings formed.

January, 2022

It was during one of our usual aforementioned beach days in St. George Island that I (Olivia) asked Sofia to be my girlfriend. Because the beach was so integral to our relationship, I had picked up a shell during our previous trip to the beach and wrote "Will you be my girlfriend?" on it in sharpie and saved it for this occasion. Bringing it along with me for this day, we had set up a sunset picnic and I handed her the shell. I (Sofia) was in love with Olivia before we even started dating. It was an easy yes.

The Next Year

The next year was filled with so many memorable moments, and still many more beach dates. I (Olivia) moved home to Orlando for work in July 2022 while Sofia stayed in Tallahassee. Long distance was hard but well worth it. Drives to and from Tallahassee were always filled with excitement and anticipation. We were able to still visit each other regularly and traveled to Puerto Rico, California, Texas, and DC. Traveling is one of our favorite things to do together.

February, 2023

I (Olivia) knew in February that I wanted to propose within the year. I started thinking of ways to make it special, and there is nothing Sofia loves more than her family and friends. After the year we had, we knew our lives would have looked extremely different without the love and support we constantly received from our friends and family. I knew they needed to be incorporated in some way. I started recruiting everyone to be a part of the plan and it turned out better than I could have ever imagined.

September 30, 2023

On September 30, 2023, I asked Sofia to marry me on the beach in Treasure Island (of course it had to be on the beach) surrounded by our friends and family. Thank you so incredibly much to everyone who was a part of that day (and thank you for dealing with my insane OCD planning -Olivia).

January 14, 2024

After having the ring with me for a couple months, I (Sofia) proposed to Olivia January 14, 2024. On the Sunday morning, I faked an emergency at the church and asked Olivia if she could come help me with it. Church was where we met and Christ has been central to our relationship. In the prayer garden, I had the blessing of asking Olivia to be my wife (she said yes).

Now

We are finally living in the same city! We still travel and go on beach dates when we can. We are so excited to start this next chapter of our lives and we cannot express enough how much your support means!
