Justin and Sofia's story started 8 years ago two weeks after starting college at Texas Tech. Sofia happened to be in Justin's dorm hanging out with a group of friends from high school. Later on, Justin walked in and they got to know each other and became immediate friends. Through their first year at college, they integrated their friend groups and remained friends for that year. After parting ways for Summer, Sofia back in Austin and Justin Back in Fort Worth, they reunited at the beginning of their Sophomore year back at Texas Tech. They began hanging out more one-on-one and soon realized they had more than just a friendship. They officially began dating on October 8, 2017. From then on, they have been inseparable. Soon after, they each went to each others homes and met each others families. They fell as in love with each others families as they were. The support of their families have been instrumental in the relationship they have formed over the past 8 years.

As college came to an end in 2021, Sofia moved back to Austin to begin her career in teaching and Justin moved back to Fort Worth to begin his career in audio engineering. Although they were apart, they promised to see each other as often as possible. The next year, 2022, Sofia made the big decision to move to Fort Worth to begin her life with Justin.

Flash forward to 2023, Sofia and Justin moved in to their first home together and knew they were ready to take the next step in their relationship, to get married! Sofia had been to Jamaica with Justin's family back in 2020 and absolutely fell in love with it and dreamed that would be the place that Justin would propose to her one day. As luck would have it, they were planning to go on another family vacation to Jamaica in October 2023 and Sofia was hopeful that Justin would propose then, but had zero expectations. On the last day of their trip, the idea of getting engaged on that trip was out of her mind. After dinner and watching performers at the resort, Justin asked Sofia to go on a walk along the sea wall and to a side of the resort they hadn't explored yet. They were using the stargazer app to look at the stars and constellations. Justin then walked Sofia over to a gazebo and they were still looking at the sky, then out of nowhere, the entire sky lit up blue and they watched a meteor shoot across the sky. Both in shock, Justin led Sofia into the gazebo to sit on a little bench. She still did not pick up on what was about to happen, especially since she was so excited and shocked about what they'd just seen. Sofia was leaning on Justin and could feel his heart racing and thought he was just excited about the meteor they'd just seen. Then, Justin stood up and proposed!

Sofia and Justin are beyond excited to get married and celebrate with all their friends and family!
