Quito is served by Mariscal Sucre International Airport (UIO). There are direct flights from major U.S. cities like Miami, Houston, and Atlanta. We recommend booking your flights early to secure the best rates.
Do I need a visa to enter Ecuador?
Most countries do not need a visa for stays of up to 90 days. Just make sure your passport is valid for at least six months from your arrival date.
How do I get from the airport to the hotel?
The airport is about 45 minutes from the city center. You can take an airport taxi (cash aprox. 35 USD), private car service (uber), or prearrange transportation with your hotel.
UBER works pretty well in Quito (5 uber stars hehehe).
Where should I stay?
Quito offers a variety of accommodations to suit every preference, and we recommend staying in the vibrant República del Salvador area, near La Carolina Park.
Why República del Salvador?
It’s a safe and bustling area with shopping malls, cafes, and a variety of restaurants nearby.
Perfect for strolling, you’ll find tree-lined streets and easy access to La Carolina Park, a beautiful urban green space.
Central and well-connected, it’s a great base for exploring the rest of Quito and making your way to the wedding events.
We recommend booking accommodations early to secure your spot in this convenient and exciting part of the city!
What is the dress code?
Our wedding will be a formal celebration, so we kindly ask all guests to dress accordingly:
Ladies: Long dresses are required to match the elegance of the occasion.
Gentlemen: Formal suits with a tie are requested.
Feel free to embrace the spirit of the day with sophisticated and celebratory attire.
Please note that Quito tends to get chilly in the evening, so we recommend bringing a light jacket, shawl, or wrap to stay comfortable.
We can’t wait to see you looking your best as we celebrate this special moment together!
What currency is used in Ecuador?
Ecuador uses the U.S. dollar. Most places accept credit cards, but it’s a good idea to carry small bills for taxis, markets, and tips.
Is there anything else I should know?
• Quito is located at a high altitude (9,350 feet/2,850 meters), so take it easy for the first day or two to adjust.
• Tap water is not drinkable; stick to bottled water.
• Quito is a beautiful city with lots to explore—don’t miss the historic Old Town and the Middle of the World monument!
