It all began seven years ago at the best college in the world, Santa Barbara at UCSB, where we crossed paths at the Excursion Club. At first friends, Sam and Sof who shared a love for the great outdoors, a passion for reading, and an insatiable appetite for board games, our connection soon evolved from a friendship to a lifelong love.

From hiking or mountain biking in the majestic Santa Barbara front country to lazy afternoons on the beach, we found solace and joy in each other's company.

One of the most remarkable aspects of our journey is our incredible group of friends who have been with us through thick, thin, and even a global pandemic. Many of our friendships started with Excursion Club and has expanded to a diverse group of coworkers and bike buddies.

Sofia, with her adventurous spirit, took us on journeys around the world. Her love for travel and open heart pushes the couple to new cultures, experiences, and perspectives. You can often find her on the road, especially spending a lot of time with her parents and brothers who love attending concerts, going on trips, and making fun of each other.

Meanwhile, Sam's logical mind and infectious humor make life a little less serious and make every game night a memorable event. He is the steady and constant one that grounds the relationship.

But our connection extends beyond our love for adventure. We share a deep commitment to causes close to our hearts—such as gender equity, and environmental conservation. Together, we strive to make a positive impact on the world, by helping friends move to donating our time to community efforts we are passionate about.
