WHEN SHOULD I ARRIVE AT THE CHURCH?

The ceremony starts in the church at 14:30. Please arrive early in order to find your seats within the church in good time. There is no reserved seating in the church, so please sit where ever you’d like and don’t worry about which side of the aisle you’re on. However, please keep the two front rows on both sides open to our nearest family members. The ceremony will go on for about an hour. It is not allowed to take photos or record video during the ceremony, so please keep your phones in your pockets. When the ceremony is over, you can take all the photos you want. You are also allowed to photograph us coming in and out of the church before and after the ceremony.

WHAT SHOULD I KNOW ABOUT THE CEREMONY?

The ceremony will last for about an hour. It is not allowed to take photos during the ceremony itself, but you are welcome to take photos or record videos before and after as well as when we enter and exit the church. Photos outside the church are also allowed at all times. It is not allowed to throw rice on the plaza in front of the church in consideration for the birds in the area.

ARE CHILDREN WELCOME?

Yes, children are welcome at the whole wedding - when you RSVP, please let us know if your children are coming or not. If your children are coming, we will seat them next to you for the dinner. However, we will not be serving any special children's menu. Please be aware that danish weddings are all about sitting down for a long dinner with speeches and other festive elements that often go on for many hours. The dinner will take place at a private room in the museum and there are no adjacent rooms for playing. However, there is a closed courtyard garden that will be open to us during the whole event.

WHAT WILL BE SERVED DURING THE WEDDING?

You will be eating lots of good food and drinking lots of delicious wine. For our dinner we will have a vegetarian starter and chicken as the main course. If you prefer the vegetarian option, you will be having a white fish for your main course. Please let us know of any food allergies when you RSVP as well as if you would prefer a vegan menu.

HOW DO I USE PUBLIC TRANSPORT IN THE CITY?

We recommend buying a "rejsekort", which is a travel pass that you simply scan when entering and exiting any bus, train or subway in Denmark. You can buy one in the machines at the Central Station, "Københavns Hovedbanegård" or "Nørreport Station". You can also download the "DOT" app, that lets you buy a ticket on your phone after adding your card information. Find the app here: https://dinoffentligetransport.dk/en/find-tickets/dot-tickets-app

WHAT SHOULD I BRING WITH ME?

As the weather in Copenhagen can be unpredictable, we recommend bringing a warm sweater or jacket and an umbrella in case of rain. If you'll be walking from the ceremony to the reception, bring comfortable shoes as it's a 30 minute walk. If you're taking the subway, make sure to buy a travel pass, "Rejsekort" before the ceremony, since you can't buy one at the station closest to the church. Alternatively, download the DOT app to buy a subway ticket here: https://dinoffentligetransport.dk/en/find-tickets/dot-tickets-app See question about taking public transport for more info.
