The Sikh ceremony is known as the "Anand Karaj" which means "ceremony of joy". We will have a Sikh Babaji (priest) who will be leading the ceremony. All guests are required to take off their shoes and cover their heads. We will provide head coverings (with the bride's side and the groom's side having different colours). All guests will also sit on the floor, with women on one side, and men on the other. If you have any issues with sitting on the floor, please contact Sohrab and Rosie and we will accommodate appropriate seating for you. The ceremony will be followed by "Langar" which is a vegetarian lunch.
Which airport should we land in?
The closest airport to Bath is Bristol Airport which is approximately 1 hour away from Bath by public transport or 30 minutes by car.
For those flying in to Heathrow airport (which is most of the international flights), there is a coach (or bus) that runs from Heathrow's Central Bus Terminal. You can also make your way to Paddington and get the train straight into Bath.
Further information is in our Travel & Hotels tab.
How do I get to the venues?

Bath is a very walkable city. However, if you do not wish to walk, there are busses available which will take you around town. Bath also has taxi services and Uber/Bolt.
What if I have dietary requirements?
Please let us know when you RSVP and we will cater to any dietary requirements that you may have. If you have any concerns, please let Sohrab and Rosie know.
What do I wear on the Friday?
We will be wearing traditional Indian clothing for the Sikh ceremony and the evening party. However, this is not a requirement and any formal wear is welcome.
Whilst we will change clothes between the Sikh ceremony and the evening, this is not a necessary and you can absolutely wear the same clothes the entire day. There will be a break between the ceremony and the evening party for those who wish to change.
What happens on Thursday evening?
We appreciate that most (if not all) of our guests will be coming from places outside Bath and may wish to come on Thursday to be ready for the festivities starting on Friday, We have therefore booked a space at a restaurant for our guests to come to on Thursday night for a meet & greet. There will also be a henna artist for those who want henna done (known as a "Mendhi" function in Indian tradition).
