Solomon and I met through Facebook Dating!We started talking in the middle of the week, and by Friday we already had plans for our first date. The BLNK Festival was happening that weekend, so we decided to meet at the Newport Levee for dinner and then walk across the bridge to explore the art installations spread through the city. We had such a great time that we couldn’t wait to see each other again, we planned our next date that night for Tuesday to play BINGO, but ended up hanging out the very next day. That’s when Solomon asked if Marlina wanted to “keep doing this thing,” and after making sure she knew what he meant, he happily said agreed.From that point on, we were inseparable. It didn’t take long for us to realize that we had found something truly special. Everything felt so natural, meeting friends and family, traveling together, and simply sharing life’s everyday moments. It felt like we had known each other forever.On April 25, 2025, Solomon proposed during a trip to Mammoth Cave. I had joked about wanting to wait until fall to get engaged, then said maybe the end of summer, and finally told him, “Whenever you’re ready!” After a day of hiking and exploring the caves, the weather wasn’t cooperating with his original plan, so he proposed in the most “us” way possible—while we were lying on the bed in our cozy cabin. I cried, he laughed, and then we called our loved ones to share the news!We can’t wait to celebrate our love with all of our favorite people!
