Sometimes when you least expect it, the best things happen. In this case throw in two slightly nerdy profiles and two right swipes. After many messages exchanged over weeks we had our 1st date on a hot July day in Fort Worth, with the requirement of good coffee (especially espresso) and a full Texas Experience. We might not remember the actual date we met, but we do remember not wanting the date to end, as we talked for nearly 6 hrs.
Fast forward a year later, on an October evening, Neil decided that we should head to Herman Miller Park for a walk and then have a nice dinner. After a long fight with traffic and a hunt for parking that led to a “rather brisk” walk to the park, we finally made it... only to learn that the Japanese Garden was closed. As all good plans, there is always “Plan B”, well an impromptu “Plan B” aka kneeling in front of the “park bench alongside the reflection pool”. He popped the question, where many tears were shed followed by an emphatic “Yes!”
As we step into a new chapter in our lives, we can not wait to celebrate with our families as we commit to spending our lives together. Rather than say the rest is history, we would like to say the best is yet to come.
