In the summer of 2022, Bridgett had the opportunity to travel to Nepal for a few weeks. There, she met Sonam and he became a part of the team as a translator and leading worship! Here is a photo of Bridgett teaching and Sonam translating :)

While both Sonam and Bridgett both became good friends over the course of the trip, a few of the team members behind the scenes discussed sensing a spark. 👀 To be fair of their speculations, often out of everyone in the group, Bridgett and Sonam were found conversing together, learning more about one another, or finding a seat at a restaurant next to each other!

Upon returning to the U.S., Sonam and Bridgett began talking every single day, thus becoming better friends. Sonam asked Bridgett to FaceTime for the first time and they spoke for an hour. The next day, Bridgett asked...they FaceTimed for 7 HOURS!!

This rhythm continued for months! Sonam and Bridgett would FaceTime almost daily while learning what life was like for each of them. Sonam taught Bridgett more about playing guitar and Bridgett made him laugh all the time.

Despite the distance, we as a couple were able to seek and pursue the Lord and each other as we prayed through what steps to take and when to take them. We were able to offer each other support, friendship, grace, accountability, and most of all LOVE! Before we knew it, Bridgett was planning her next trip to see Sonam!

At the end of September 2023, we finally got to meet in person after dating for a year long distance. This moment was incredibly surreal!

While in Nepal, Bridgett and Sonam were able to spend quality time, meet friends and family, and have really fun and memorable dates!

Sonam and Bridgett are both passionate about worshipping the Lord, and were able to lead students at a camp together along with other members of the team!

By far the best part of the trip was GETTING ENGAGED! Bridgett and Sonam as well as close members of their communities were able to walk alongside them as they made this decision. The heartbeat of this moment was Exodus 33:15 "If your presence will not go with me, do not bring us up from here."

In Nepal we did have an engagement party with Sonam's closest friends and family, Bridgett's soon-to-be family too. Still, Bridgett and Sonam look forward to celebrating soon with all of you at their wedding! Bridgett's closest friend's also threw her a surprise engagement party!
