Marc and Sonia had been part of the same circle of friends for over 20 years. Marc was always the quiet, polite one—thoughtful and reserved. Sonia, on the other hand, was outgoing, bubbly, and just a little scatterbrained—in the most endearing way.
Years ago, they crossed paths at a cell phone store. Marc never forgot seeing her that day, though true to his patient nature, it would be nearly a decade before he made a move. One day, seemingly out of nowhere, he messaged Sonia on Facebook and asked her to dinner.
Before agreeing, Sonia asked around—and the response was unanimous: “Go! Marc’s SUCH a great guy.” So she did.
Their first date turned out to be unforgettable. Sonia introduced Marc to JB Dawson’s famous chicken tenders and honey mustard sauce. Marc fell fast—for the chicken… and for the girl with excellent taste—in food and maybe in men.
Since then, they’ve shared countless adventures—traveling to Sedona, California, Italy, the Bahamas, Disney, and more—laughing, exploring, and falling in love one trip (and snack) at a time. One of their most iconic nights was a sugar-fueled spree in New York City, where they completely skipped dinner and hunted down every dessert within a ten-block radius. They returned to their hotel room with a mountain of sweets, climbed into bed like two kids at a slumber party, and declared it a full-blown “dessert for dinner” night. No vegetables, no regrets, and definitely no leftovers.
In June 2024, while vacationing in Rome, Sonia suggested they recreate a meaningful photo her parents had taken on their honeymoon at the Trevi Fountain. As the camera clicked, Marc suddenly dropped to one knee—right in that same spot, with a ring in his hand and love written all over his face. Sonia froze, then laughed through tears as she realized what was happening. The world seemed to pause around them. What began as a tribute to her parents’ love story instantly became the most unforgettable moment of their own.
One of the most heartwarming parts of their journey has been watching their kids blend into one big, sarcastic, snack-loving tribe. There’s nonstop laughter, plenty of teasing, and a bond that somehow just works. It’s one of the things they’re most proud of.
They also share their home with two adorably spoiled (and very sassy) dogs, Colton and Lacey, who run the house and know it. Lacey, whom Marc and Sonia adopted together, is sweet, spirited, and just a little bossy… and Colton wouldn’t have it any other way.
When things slow down, they cherish the quieter moments—catching up on the news together, taking long walks, or spending sunny days out on the boat with their kids.
Marc and Sonia may be opposites, but they balance each other in all the right ways. Marc loves Sonia’s kind heart, her fun-loving spirit, and the way she lights up every room. Sonia loves how hardworking and unexpectedly spontaneous Marc is, and how he never stops trying to make her smile. Together, they look forward to a lifetime of travel, family, laughter—and dessert for dinner whenever the mood strikes.
