It was the summer of 2021 and we both attended a music festival in downtown Denver with our mutual friends. Lo and behold, we didn't know that day would change our lives forever.

After we met each other at the music festival, we hung out every single weekend the rest of the summer. We became such good friends over the next couple of months.

After those couple of months, Devonte asked Sonja out for a coffee date and she politely declined, as she doesn't like coffee and didn't realize it was going to be a date. We continued to be friends and Devonte shot his shot again for mini golf and dinner and Sonja gladly accepted.

We started dating later that year and went on so many adventures with each other; hiking, concerts, movies, visiting family, Hawaii and so much more. Life was perfect with each other.

On our anniversary, Devonte had gotten a cabin up in Estes Park for the weekend to celebrate. Devonte had his friends go up beforehand and decorate the cabin for his proposal. It was the easiest "yes" of my life.

We are so excited for the next chapter in our lives together and excited to celebrate with all of our loved ones!
