When Jack and Sonje came across each other's profiles on OKCupid, they decided to take a chance and swipe right. Jack reached out to Sonje with a witty message about all the things they could do together in the city starting with the letter "A" and noted that he had even more ideas for the letter "B." Sonje was intrigued by Jack's wit and creativity, so, on May 1, 2017, they agreed to meet for the first time at R Public House in Rogers Park near Sonje's then apartment. After a wonderful evening of drinks and burgers, they decided to meet up again the next weekend to get to know each other better. Soon, they were hanging out for days at a time, but Jack told Sonje that he couldn't see himself dating a smoker in the long-term. Motivated by her desire to get healthy, and her growing feelings for Jack, Sonje (with Jack's help) decided to quit smoking. On July 8, 2017, they made their relationship official and a month later moved in together. The rest, as they say, is history. Through ups and downs, trips, the loss of their first beloved dog Rizzo, the adoption of their second dog Boogie, job changes, a condo purchase, the marriages of their family and friends, the births of their friends' and family members' children (including their beloved first nephew Abe!), Sonje and Jack have stood by one another and cherished the love and support of their friends and family. On July 30, 2022, Jack asked Sonje the question that she hoped he would, and Sonje gave Jack the answer that she knew she would give. They are so excited to celebrate their union on December 11, 2022 with you all.
