How Sonora and Noah Met:
Our love story began in an unexpected way, thanks to an idea from our mutual friend, Karli Skog, now Karli Huss. Sonora met Karli during their freshman year at the University of Jamestown. Little did she know, this friend would set the stage for our love story.
Noah is best friends with Cody, Karli's now husband. Cody holds a special place in Noah's heart (sorry Sonora but some bonds are irreplaceable), but little did Noah know that through Cody, he would meet his second best friend, Sonora.
Karli, the matchmaker, saw an opportunity for some harmless fun in introducing Sonora and Noah. What started as a joke turned into the beginning of something beautiful. Jokes on you, Karli!
The Middle Years:
Despite being separated by long distances and Noah's over the road trucking career, our relationship has grown over the years. Through our journey together officially spans over five years, it feels like we've only just begun. The challenges of long distance love and Noah's demanding job couldn't deter us. Deep down, we both knew that we wanted forever, and we were willing to go the distance, literally and figuratively, to be together. Sonora and Noah live together, a couple days a week anyway, in Alexandria MN, enjoying time hiking, kayaking and playing games together.
The Engagement:
In April, Sonora, Noah and Little Bear spent a weekend in Winona hiking, looking at the Mississippi River and large rocks, and enjoying a cool brewery and arguably the best bakery. As we waited for the sunset atop one of the many river bluffs, Noah got down on one knee and Sonora said "Yes" as she held in the "It's about time!"
The Rest of Our Lives
So here we are, ready to start on the next season (we like sports not books so it can't be a chapter...) of our lives as husband and wife. We can't wait to celebrate our love surrounded by our friends and family who have witnessed and supported us every step of the way! Thank you for being a part of our journey. We can't wait to create many more beautiful memories together as we say "I do" and begin our happily ever after.
