Telling our story is sort of short and sweet. Sonya worked at the Rosemary Beach farmers market, helping a gentleman sell, hummus, baba ghanoush, and other products on Sundays. I went (and still go ) to the farmers market almost every Sunday, and we just started talking. Months went by, and we conversed, regularly as I did with many other vendors. Finally, one day I asked her if she would like to get together for a glass of wine and she said yes. On the Tuesday before Christmas in 2021, we met for a glass of wine in Grayton Beach at a wine shop.-I need to interject here, that at the farmers market, Sonya usually wore extremely comfortable clothes, which meant, boots, baggy sweatshirts, a baseball, cap, and sunglasses, and some sort of comfortable pants. To be truthful, I really didn’t know what she really looked like, she was just fun to talk to. When I got to the wine shop, there was no one else there, and when I walked in the server asked me if I was waiting for a lady, and I said yes. She said she’s in the bathroom and will be out in a minute. Well, Sonya walked out with their hair down, ( not a ponytail, pulled through the back of her baseball cap) and, as you know, looked stunning! I really wasn’t sure that was her! - Instead of sitting there for a half hour or an hour, we sat there for at least three hours, had wine, oysters and a few other appetizers, and just had a terrific time. Because I had some events coming up, I went ahead and asked her if she would like to go out Friday evening, which was Christmas Eve and she said yes. I then said I’m going to jump ahead and ask you if you’d like to go out for New Year’s Eve and she said yes. Well after Christmas Eve, we saw each other a few more times, and by New Year’s, we knew that was it, and we were together almost all the time. Since then life has been a joy! We laugh, joke, kid each other, and enjoy our lives together. Sonya even took up Golf, and we have a terrific time being on the golf course together. So far life together is wonderful, and we both looking forward to having a dynamic, exhilarating, loving life together as a married couple.
