Due to the venue's limited capacity, we are only able to accommodate those guests formally invited on your wedding invitation/RSVP.
What is the dress code?
We’d love to see everyone dressed up for our big day! The dress code is semi-formal to formal. For the ladies, floor-length or midi dresses are perfect, and for the gentlemen, a suit and tie will look great. We kindly suggest avoiding black for both men and women. If you get cold easily, please bring a light jacket or wrap, just in case the evening gets chilly!
What will the weather be like?
Vancouver’s mid-May weather can be unpredictable! Temperatures typically range from 12°C to 18°C (54°F to 64°F), but we might see anything from sunshine to rain showers. The ceremony will be outdoors, but if the weather doesn’t cooperate, we’ll move the reception indoors. So, come prepared for anything, and we’ll make sure it’s a wonderful day, no matter the weather! For those coming from the tropics, make sure to bring extra layers.
About the Venue
Hycroft Manor is a historic treasure in the heart of Vancouver, originally built in 1911 for Alexander Duncan McRae, a Canadian-born businessman and influential figure in Western Canada’s growth. McRae played a pivotal role in developing the prairies and advancing B.C.'s lumber, mining, and fisheries industries, while also serving as Quartermaster-General during the First World War.
The mansion itself is a masterpiece of freestyle Edwardian Classicism, blending Neo-classical Revival, Italianate, and Beaux-Arts elements. Its unique concrete construction is adorned with striking architectural features, including ionic columns, Juliet balconies, green roof tiles, and deeply bracketed eaves.
