Our Story

Todd and Sophia’s story began in June 2020 when they matched on Hinge. Despite both having their locations set to the Bay Area, circumstances were a bit more complicated—Todd was living with his family in Texas, while Sophia was staying with hers in Wisconsin. Somehow, in the midst of a pandemic, they still managed to find each other.

With travel restrictions in place, their relationship began virtually, and they made the most of it. For their first date, Todd didn’t just plan a simple video call—he created a keynote (not a PowerPoint) for a virtual concert tour, where they attended some of their favorite music sets together online. Not to be outdone, Sophia organized a wine and paint night by Amazon Priming a paint-by-number kit to Todd’s house. Their early dates lasted six to eight hours at a time, filled with laughter, deep conversations, and the foundation of something truly special.

When they finally met in person, Sophia couldn’t believe her eyes—Todd was even more incredible than he was online. From there, their story only grew. The pandemic meant they were immediately exclusive, since dating in public wasn’t an option, and their connection deepened.

As life moved forward, so did they. Todd received a promotion and asked Sophia to move with him to Seattle, where they now live and continue building their life together. Last year, they welcomed Balto, their Golden Mountain Doodle, into their family, and he has been keeping them on their toes ever since.

Now, they are thrilled to take the next step—surrounded by the people they love most, celebrating the life they have built and the future they are stepping into together. Todd and Sophia cannot wait to share their special day with everyone!
