Our Wedding

We first met on Hinge and agreed to meet up on a foggy day in July 2020 at Golden Gate Park. As San Francisco's famous "Karl the Fog" rolled in, Kyle showed up in his sick Giants jacket with beers, not knowing Sophia was not a fan (of either). Over miniscule sips of beer, we spent hours talking about Kyle's new job as a Product Manager at Google and Sophia's recent return from working in a COVID-19 ICU. It took over a month to find a day when it was not smokey outside and for Sophia to not be a zombie from working the night shift. On the second date, we drove to Ocean Beach, through Golden Gate Park, and finally across the Golden Gate Bridge for pizza in Marin.From then on, our love for adventure and learning together took off. We've biked up Twin Peaks, Mount Tam, and through Napa, and hiked all over the city, from Sutro to Twin Peaks, Sand Ladder, and Dipsea Trail in Marin. We've also eaten our way through San Francisco, from countless burritos at Papalote and Street Taco to lots of Muhummara at Beit Rima and chowing down on our favorite SF sourdough - Acme's Walnut Bread.While both of us worked full-time, we went to business school, Kyle at Berkeley Haas and Sophia at Duke Fuqua (remote). It was a busy time, balancing work and school both during the week and weekend, but we stood by each other. Eventually, Sophia switched careers and started working in AI, and Kyle was so inspired he followed her into the field!We love our city and are so excited to share all of our favorite spots with our family and friends who are visiting. Lodge at the Presidio

The other property managed by the same company as the Lodge at the Presidio is the Inn at the Presidio. It is the sister property and is also within walking distance to our Welcome Drinks and Wedding Venue.

The Laurel Inn is conveniently located near our wedding venue and is central to Pac Heights, the Marina, and Nopa neighborhoods. It is one of our family's favorite hotels to stay at when they visit us in the city.

Transportation

Flying

If you are traveling from abroad or out of state we recommend flying into SFO. Most of the hotels are about ~30-45 minutes from the airport.

Driving

If you plan on driving and parking in San Francisco, please ensure that you take all of your valuables out of the car. Please do not leave anything visible in your car including less valuable items like grocery bags, glasses, etc. If you are planning on driving to the ceremony there is a parking lot located at the venue.

Uber, Lyft, Waymo!

We recommend that you Uber, Lyft, or Waymo around the city rather than driving around the city. Parking can be challenging. If you'd like to Waymo be sure to download the Waymo app (see below). There is a parking lot at the wedding venue if you do wish to drive to the ceremony.

Walks! (aka Hikes!)

This is Sophia &amp; Kyle's top park. It offers views of Ocean Beach, Golden Gate Park, and the city. We recommend eating on 9th Avenue (Inner Sunset neighborhood) or visiting Cole Street (Cole Valley neighborhood) after you visit the park.

There are so many nooks &amp; crannies in GGP!!! Our favorites include:1. National AIDS Memorial Grove2. Conservatory of Flowers3. Strawberry Hill4. Barnes Tennis Center (especially for the bathrooms)5. Bison Paddock6. de Young Museum and California Academy of Sciences7. Windmills

Golden Gate Park

Baker Beach offers a stunning view of the Golden Gate Bridge. There is an amazing hike called the Sand Ladder and you can walk all the way to the Marina.

Baker Beach Sea Cliff Access / Parking

This is the most magical hike in San Francisco. The mountain is maintained by UCSF. You can hike from Sutro to Twin Peaks. Twin Peaks offers unparalleled views of the city. We recommend starting from the entrance on 17th Street.

Mount Sutro Open Space Reserve

This is Kyle's favorite park. He lived on 18th Street when Sophia &amp; Kyle first met. Our recommendation is to grab a burrito from Señor Sigsig on Valencia Street or check out Bi-Rite on 18th for some amazing snacks and people watch at Mission Dolores Park.

Hawk Hill is one of the most famous cycling routes in San Francisco. Kyle, Sophia, and Anthony, Sophia's brother have biked up this several times. It is a very special cycling and hike route. It offers some of the most famous views. You are also able to drive up!

Dalida is an incredible restaurant!!! We highly recommend visiting and walking around the Presidio after. It is located near our ceremony venue.

Beit Rima is one of our favorite restaurants in San Francisco. We typically eat there after hiking Mount Sutro to Twin Peaks. Please go to the Carl Street location, not the Church Street location if you wish to visit.

InoVino was the first restaurant Sophia ate at with Molly, Anthony, and Tati when she moved to San Francisco. She worked a little up the street at UCSF Parnassus for ~ 4 years and went to InoVino many times! Cheers!

Molly &amp; Sophia had a great lunch here celebrating an early Christmas since Sophia was worked Christmas during her time at the bedside. It is a sweet &amp; classic restaurant.

Fiorella is an awesome pizza spot, there are several locations in the city our favorites include the Polk Street and 9th Street locations.

Tartine is a must! There are a few locations we recommend the one on 9th or the one on Alabama Street.

Arsicault is a famous bakery in San Francisco. They recently opened a location near Sophia &amp; Kyle in Mission Bay. We'll send you to the one on Arguello Street. The line is long!!! But it moves fast &amp; is a good indicator of how tasty the food is!

We recommend eating at <a href="https://www.1hotels.com/san-francisco/taste/terrene" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Terrene</a> and taking a ferry from the Ferry Building to Angel Island (be prepared to spend ~4 hours on Angel Island) or Marin.
