It all began on&nbsp;February 3rd, in true Fort Worth fashion.Sophia was spending the afternoon at her parents’ house near TCU when, out of nowhere, a small clown-like car sped down the street, blasting music, driven by a man in a cowboy hat. Naturally, Sophia assumed the rodeo clowns were in town. Little did she know, that eccentric entrance wasn’t made by a rodeo clown at all—it was&nbsp;Jake McCoy. Later that evening, Sophia and her best friend Emi went to dinner at&nbsp;Winslow’s. Afterward, Emi wanted to show Sophia her wedding venue,&nbsp;Bowie House, so the two popped over for a quick look. They had barely stepped inside when a friendly face—complete with that same cowboy hat and scarf—greeted them with, “Can I grab you ladies a drink?”That friendly face? None other than&nbsp;Jake McCoy&nbsp;himself. Sophia, ever the cautious one, wasn’t so sure about this bold stranger. But Jake was persistent, and charming in his own quirky way. Somewhere in the conversation, Sophia put two and two together and realized he was, in fact, the cowboy from the clown car earlier that day. They parted ways, but fate (and Jake) had a few tricks up his sleeve. A couple of weeks later, Sophia found a&nbsp;Syndicate scarf&nbsp;tucked into her purse—planted there by Jake as a playful calling card. At that point, she couldn’t resist saying yes to a first date. From that moment on, they were inseparable.Even when Sophia went to&nbsp;London for interior design school, Jake didn’t let distance get in the way. He flew around the globe to be with her. They explored the world, talked endlessly, and learned that their connection ran deeper than geography or coincidence. Despite Fort Worth being a small town, they discovered countless shared friends and familiar places—but had never crossed paths until that one unforgettable night. They realized they were&nbsp;meant to be&nbsp;one afternoon in London: Sophia with her&nbsp;Aperol Spritz, Jake with his&nbsp;pub beer, both soaking in the city, fully themselves—and fully together. When Sophia returned home, they jumped into&nbsp;football season&nbsp;together. Jake (eventually) cracked a smile for the TCU Frogs, and Sophia got to experience the spirited UT vs. A&amp;M rivalry. Though they grew up just miles apart—Jake at Fort Worth Country Day, Sophia at Trinity Valley School—their schools were long-time rivals. Now, they get to enjoy the fun of the&nbsp;Bryant Irvin rivalry&nbsp;together, from opposite sides, and with a whole lot of love and humor. Then came&nbsp;April 12, 2025:&nbsp;Crawfish and Cannons&nbsp;at Jake’s family ranch in&nbsp;Graham, Texas. Jake had been planning something special. Surrounded by family, friends, and the spirit of Fort Worth, he proposed. And of course—she said yes. Now, the countdown is on for their wedding on&nbsp;April 10, 2026—almost exactly a year later. Two Fort Worth kids. One chance encounter. And a future full of laughter, travel, football, and love. We can't wait to celebrate with you.
