In November 2017, The Manix Family unexpectedly lost an extremely special person. His name was Edward Manix and he was my Grandpa. A few months before he passed, he asked, “How is your love life?” My response was, “It is nonexistent.” We laughed and he then processed to say, “When I die, I will cause a triangle of men to fall in love with you.” Around the time that he passed, I was out of school for a few weeks. When the next semester began, my precalculus teacher was changed without notice. Little did Nick and I know, this would be the class we found love. A few weeks later, he did the most romantic thing…he slid into my DMs on Instagram and started some silly conversation about a math test and we literally couldn’t stop talking. Nick and I began dating on May 20, 2018. Since then, we’ve had countless sushi dates, movie nights, vacations, and adventures. Each day has truly been a blessing. It brings the biggest smiles to our faces to think of the many more memories we will make. Of course, Pop didn’t make a triangle of men fall in love with me, but he certainly blessed us in the best way possible.
