13 years of friendship, 10 years of love

After all these years, we are ecstatic to officially tie the knot by eloping in scenic Scotland on the Isle of Skye, off the Western coast of the Highlands!

This will be our first international trip together, and we can't wait to explore all the things. We look forward to sharing photos and stories of our travels with you all upon our return. We will be updating the site content to keep you all posted. If you have any Scotland recommendations, please share!

We will start by journeying to Amsterdam where we will spend a day and night exploring the city. From there, we will travel to Edinburgh. In our first couple days there we will tour Edinburgh Castle, hike Arthur's Seat, perhaps visit the National Scottish Museum, and of course walk the Royal Mile, taking in all the sights of old town.

After the first couple of nights settling in, we're renting a car and driving through the Highlands up towards the Isle of Skye. We will stop along the way to feed the hairy moos (fluffy highland cows), which we expect to be a trip highlight!

Upon arriving on Skye, we will be staying at Skeabost House hotel for 2 nights, where we plan to elope on April 22nd, 2024! We will have our ceremony outside (weather permitting) where we will be married by a bagpiper/celebrant in full Scottish garb. We will take part in some fun Scottish traditions like handfasting (tying a knot). Following the ceremony, we will change into our hiking boots and explore some scenic landscapes the isle has to offer, such as the Quiraing, waterfalls at the fairy pools and the rocky hillside of the Man of Storr. We will finish off the night with a candlelit dinner.

We'll spend another couple of days on the island exploring the beautiful highland nature and trying to make friends with the farm animals on the croft where we will complete our stay. We're excited to try out our new camera, and practice our wildlife photography. :)

Upon leaving Skye, we will travel to Inverness where we will spend a couple of nights. We plan to visit the Culloden battlefield, nearby castles, lochs like Loch Ness (where Nessie lives), and explore the city.

Then we will travel down to Stirling for another couple nights stay. We look forward to our epic castle day where we plan to visit centuries-old historic castles like Stirling Castle, Doune Castle, Midhope Castle, and Blackness Castle.

We will wrap up our trip in Edinburgh for a couple of nights, where we will be staying in New Town.
