Dakota Drug is located at 107 South Main. It is know for its original soda fountain and the only surviving Whirl-A-Whip machine still being used. A Whirl-A-Whip is an ice cream treat that has candies or other ingredients mixed in. Just a few items you can mix into the ice cream are peanut butter, dill pickles, watermelon candies, and Oreo cookies.

The Prairie Rose Golf Course is located on the north side of Stanley on Highway 8 just east of the courthouse.


It is a 9-hole course with grass greens and watered fairways. A lot of activity occurs at the course during the summer from special tournaments to weekly men's and women's nights.
