Is it easiest to fly in San Jose and drive into Carmel (which is about 1 hr 15 min). Is it also possible to fly into Monterrey! (There just aren't typically a lot of options.)

There are a ton of Uber & Lyft available in this area! The Hyatt (where the welcome gathering is) is about 15 minutes from downtown Carmel, the church is 5, and the reception is ab out 15. So everything is relatively close! We recommend renting a car, especially if you are landing in San Jose, as there is so much to do and a lot of beautiful hikes in the area.

Carmel-by-the-Sea is the main village in Carmel. Probably the best place to stay is in the heart of the village, where you can walk to all the restaurants, shops, galleries, town beach. Carmel Highlands is just past Point Lobos to the south, on the way to Big Sur. Good for day-tripping for ocean views, hiking, etc. Carmel Valley begins at the southern end of town and stretches inland to the east. This area is warmer and a bit more dry - where spas & winery's can be found.

The dress code for rehearsal dinner and welcome gathering is cocktail attire - but also whatever you feel comfortable in! Doesn't have to be super dressy. Because the ceremony will be held in a church, attire will be formal/semi-formal.
