Austin and Sophia’s love story kicked off like a scene from a rom-com. They swiped right into each others hearts on Hinge in January of 2020, both looking for a bit of romance and a lot of sushi. Sophia, who had recently made St. Pete her new home, and Austin, a laid-back guy from South Florida, hit it off over Sake Bombs and sushi rolls at Sushi Inc. in downtown St. Pete. They found themselves laughing through the night, and by the time the check came, they both felt they had stumbled onto something special.

Life for them became a fun montage of exploring every corner of Tampa and St. Pete, becoming regulars at local restaurants, and chilling at the beach. At home, they formed a rockin’ duo named “The Sake Bombers,” with Sophia killing it on the drums and Austin jamming on the guitar.

The big family test came when Sophia took Austin back to Illinois. Her mom, excited as ever, gathered the whole family to meet him. Austin walked into a room full of Sophias relatives and left with a fan club. Thats when Sophia saw Austin wasn’t just a keeper—he was her rock.

Next up was their cozy Tampa apartment, where workdays ended with cuddles from Annie, their adorable Goldendoodle. As Annie grew, they craved the beach life again and moved back to St. Pete, their little slice of paradise.

But when a great job opportunity for Austin popped up in the Midwest, they packed up for Indiana, sunshine in their hearts. Settling in their new place, Austin surprised Sophia during their Christmas photo shoot with a ring and a question that would start their next great adventure.

Then came Amelia, their beautiful daughter, in May 2023, making their duo a trio. Austin and Sophia are grateful every day for their journey together, and as they look forward to getting married, they’re just excited to keep laughing, loving, and making music together as a family.
