Unlike many modern love stories, their first interaction was very…….. unique! Sophia reached out to Enoch first— She hit him with the ol’ “Give me the first random fact that comes to your head”. Now I want you to think of what fact that might have been …. Did you guess “Ants pass food to one another through a process of regurgitation called trophallaxis ?” No? Well, that’s how it all started! Enoch’s friends hit him with a “Really?? That’s what you said??” Enoch told them, “Yeah, if she’s the one, she’ll match my energy”. Well ladies and gentlemen…. He proposed, pretty safe to say the vibe was matched! She threw back a “ that’s so cool! Did you know rabbits are not rodents? They do not have the same number of incisors, so their only relative is the hare, with the next closest relative being the horse”. The rest, ladies and gentlemen, is history.

Enoch and Sophia had their first date December 11, 2022. On their first date, they went for sushi where shortly after partaking in a water chugging contest…Sophia threw up! Miraculously Enoch still liked her and here we are now—we’re getting married. Lol. To prevent the awkwardness, Enoch played careless whisper to which Sophia turns over her shoulder in confusion and mutters “Is this careless whisper??”. To which Enoch replies, “Yeah! I didn’t want you to feel embarrassed, so I wanted to make you laugh instead!” It was in this moments that Sophia thought to herself, “Yup…. I just met my future husband.” They continued their adventure despite the unexpected events after making a quick stop at Walgreens for some tums. After some drinks, games, and conversation, they didn’t want the fun to end! So, off to the Christmas Lights they went! Wandering through a winter wonderland, playing on the playground, arm wrestling as an excuse to hold hands, they stumble upon a simple turtle statue where they decided to snap their very first picture together! (This part of the story is foreshadowing, you’ll want to remember this part. ;) ).

Remember when we said that the turtle statue would be important? Well, here we are! One random day in July, Enoch decided to take Sophie out for sushi. Who doesn’t love sushi right?! We go to sushi and THANKFULLY there were no vom-bombs involved this time around. After their lunch, Enoch suggests we go to all of the same locations that we went to on their first date—Yes, even Walgreens. Boom, off went for some drinks, games, and the park. Being the middle of summer in the hot, humid Midwest, there was a shortage in Christmas lights and snow. However, the swings they sat on, the merry go round they spun on, and bench where they arm wrestled still existed. They relived their beginning while laughing and reminiscing.

When they approached the turtle where they took their very first picture, Enoch had to pull a “LOOK OVER THERE!”. Sophia, suspiciously, turned around to play along. When she turned back, there was Enoch on one knee. It was beautiful and so perfectly them. It was there that they snapped their very first picture as future husband and wife.
