Here is a list of some of the many fun things do to in the coastal city of Cascais!
Lisbon - The capital city is definitely worth a day of exploring prior to traveling to Cascais or after the wedding as you continue your travels.
Sintra - Charming hillside town accessible by car or bus from Cascais. Places of interest include Pena Palace, Castle of the Moors, and Quinta da Regaleira. Day trip itinerary shown here.
Cabo da Roca - Westernmost point in continental Europe. Beautiful cliffside views of the ocean can be had on small hikes both north and south of the lighthouse. 1-2 hour visit.
CityMapper – This app is for public transportation and mapping and includes other modes of transportation including walking, driving, and cycling. The app displays transport options between any two locations in the cities the app supports.
Bolt - European rideshare service. Would recommend having this and Uber downloaded for your taxi needs. Bolt was often cheaper than Uber while we traveled there.
Bounce - Luggage storage service. Allows you to check your luggage with a local store or hotel if you're in between accommodations and want to explore the city without rolling or hauling your bag around all day. This was so convenient for our previous trip!
Bird - Scooter & bike rental. Numerous parking spots available with very bike and scooter friendly roads in Cascais. Cheapest and most fun means of travel in the city, aside from walking of course!
Omio - Easiest way to book intranational and inter-Europe transport via bus, train, or plane, providing all of your transportation options in one place.
Google Translate - Quickly translate text, images, and speech. Download languages to translate offline. Very helpful for menus, street signs, and giving your best shot at Portuguese conversation with those you meet along the way.
