Our Wedding

We met in Savannah through mutual friends during COVID. At first we were just friends, hanging out every now and again in groups. As we became closer, we realized we were moving to Charleston, SC, around the same time. Once we got there, we began hanging out all the time - still just as friends - until John mustered up the courage to say what both of us had been thinking: maybe we could be more than friends and go on a date? The first date went well, and we kept going on more after that. We especially bonded over the incredible restaurants and bars Charleston had to offer. We still love trying fun, new places to eat and grab a drink. Eventually, John had to move for work, while Sophie stayed in Charleston. We decided to give long distance a try, and though it was challenging, we made it work and ultimately came out of it closer than ever before. We were able to travel to places all over, like New York, New Orleans, and London, and made so many great memories as our love continued to grow. After a while, long distance became more difficult, and we knew we wanted to be able to spend more time together. We were offered jobs back in Savannah, our hometown, and jumped at the chance to move back home and be together. We found an apartment off of Forsyth Park and settled into Savannah life with our newly adopted cat, Butters. John decided to propose in the backyard the morning before St. Patrick’s Day so that we could easily celebrate with friends and family. We are so excited to continue our story and can’t wait to celebrate with all the people we love. Here’s to the next chapter!

Our order: A cheddar rillette and a half dozen oysters to start, a whole chicken dinner to split as our entree (with an extra side of pickles), and some house frozen cocktails to wash it down.

Brochu's Family Tradition

One of our favorite date night spots! The menu is always rotating and delicious. A great place for a big group or a romantic dinner.

The Collins Quarter

We crave their biscuit sandwiches and pastries. They also have a great tasting menu for dinner.

We have been going to Lone Wolf since we met in 2020. Sophie always orders a 'Treating Objects Like Women' while John usually grabs a beer. After Lone Wolf, walk next door to Moodrights for pool, duckpin bowling, and Big Buck Hunter.

The perfect place to go to grab a cocktail and run into every local Savannian you know. Ideal for larger groups and couples alike.

Savoy Society

A container bar with rotating food trucks, outdoor games, and sometimes live music. A great place to hangout during the day for everyone. If you want a change of scenery, head to Two Tides, a local brewery with great beers attached to Starland Yard.

Starland Yard

Our neighborhood pub, just a few minutes away from our home. All cocktails are made in house, and they have the best sandwiches in town; what more could you want!
