TRAVEL - FLIGHT/FERRY OPTIONS
Following our recent trip to Croatia and Korcula we thought it would be useful to give an idea of how we got on which should hopefully help with travel, accommodation and getting around.
We flew into Dubrovnik from London Gatwick with Easyjet which took us just under 3 hours. We stayed in a beautiful town about 10 minutes from the airport called Cavtat which we would definitely recommend if you did have any time before or after our big day. We stayed in Cavtat because we arrived late into the evening, it was really easy to get an Uber from the airport.
The next day we also took an Uber to the port of Dubrovnik which took approx 30 minutes from Cavtat to get the ferry over to Korcula. There were several boat options across to Korcula that day, we purchased our tickets at the port on the day however you can also book them in advance. The crossing was around 2 hours with some beautiful scenery along the way.
The ferry crossing from Dubrovnik drops you on the East side of the island in Korcula town which is absolutely stunning and worth visiting if you have the time. From Korcula town we then hired a car to the wedding venue villa which took us approx 40 minutes to get to the other end of the island of Vela Luka. This drive was on one easy straight road then got a little dusty and narrow for the final kilometer leading up to the villa. Again we loved the drive as the scenery really is breathtaking.
An alternative option is to fly into Split from London which is a similar flight time, again plenty of flights with EasyJet. You would then travel approx 23km from the airport to the port of Split either by bus, taxi, car or shuttle. The ferry from Split would drop you in Vela Luka town which is approx 5-10 minutes from the villa. Therefore, if you're planning on staying in Vela Luka or nearby the ferry from Split would be a better option.

We've had a look and flight operators to Split are TUI, Croatian airlines and EasyJet from London Gatwick and Wizz from Luton. We used Skyscanner to see all options and prices.

Private Air Charters are available to and from Guernsey Airport. If enough of the group are travelling direct from Guernsey then this might be an option rather than flying to the UK first, staying over in London and then heading to Croatia from London.
