Our Wedding

We went to South Dakota in November 2023. This was the furthest we had traveled together! We stayed at The Lodge at Bolton Ranch in Dallas, South Dakota where we hunted pheasant, chukar, and quail. On November 18, 2023, after we both got our first pheasant ever, Jacob got down on one knee and proposed.

About Us

We’ve been together since December 2019. We share a passion for the outdoors and spend most of our time together outside. In the Spring and Summer, you can find us at a park riding four-wheelers. In the Fall and Winter, our weekends are spent in a tree stand or hunting blind. We also spend a lot of our time together in our garage with our dog Bailey.

What is semi-formal wedding attire?

Semi-formal falls in the gray area between casual and formal. In other words, a simple way to think of semi-formal attire is that it’s fancier than casual-wear or typical office attire but not quite as refined as evening gowns and tuxedos.

Places to See

High Bridge Trail is 31 miles long and ideally suited for hiking, bicycling and horseback riding. Once a rail bed, the trail is wide, level and generally flat. Its finely crushed limestone surface and dimensions make it easy to enjoy. The park’s centerpiece is the majestic High Bridge, which is more than 2,400 feet long and 125 feet above the Appomattox River. It is the longest recreational bridge in Virginia and among the longest in the United States. High Bridge, a Virginia Historic Landmark, is on the National Register of Historic Places. On April 6, 1865, Confederate General Robert E Lee’s Army of Northern Virginia wearily trudged its way through Amelia County in hopes of reaching greatly needed supplies at Farmville, Virginia.&nbsp;At Sailor’s Creek, Union General Ulysses S. Grant’s Union forces successfully cut off the line of retreat and attacked the rear guard.&nbsp;The result was an overwhelming Union victory, having captured wagons, artillery, approximately 7,700 combatants, and 8 Confederate generals.&nbsp;72 hours later, General Lee would be surrendering the remainder of his army to General Grant at the village of Appomattox Court House, thus effectively ending the fighting in Virginia.&nbsp;
