The story of Sophie and Dave begins on separate continents with completely different cultures. It's a cosmopolitan international journey around the globe culminating in the two finding each other very far away from where they started.

Sophie's childhood in Vienna was filled with wholesome Sound of Music-like stories complete with mountains, berry picking, Austrian traditions, and family travel.

Dave had a quintessential American upbringing in Dallas filled with Breakfast Club-type shenanigans, Thanksgivings, and family vacations.

The only thing in common was perhaps all the early exposure to so many places. It seems these experiences inspired both to eventually move on from their birthplace and explore the world.

Sophie left home to go to university in London. After graduating, she went on to pursue her creative passions abroad living in various places like Ann Arbor, Wilmington, Toronto, Vancouver, and Chicago. However Los Angeles has always been her home away from home not to mention the birthplace of her son, Cougar.

Dave left for Austin to earn his degree before heading to San Francisco to start his life. After several years in California, he left to travel and eventually decided to put roots down in Sydney...becoming an Australian citizen in the process. After a great run down under, Dave said a sad farewell to Sydney in order to return to the States to be with his family. He took an offer that moved him to LA, and when his parents decided to retire and join him in California, it became the new home for the Chung family.

And that's where Sophie and Dave met, in the City of Angels...although they could've easily crossed paths before. They quickly discovered they had something significant in common...both had solo backpacked around the world for over a year. There was an instant bond as they shared similar stories of far away places. Their kindred spirits had been chasing each other around the planet all these years it seems. Los Angeles finally brought their two worlds together. It was December 2019...the before times.

Their first year dating was spent mostly in a global pandemic lockdown. Navigating the Covid calamity with each other turned out to be a blessing in disguise and they used that time to cook many meals together, pray for freedom, and fall in love.

Since then, Dave and Sophie have continued their adventures together. Whether clocking thousands of miles living the vanlife, skiing mountains around the world, or expeditions in far off lands, one thing has become clear...they were meant for each other.

Dave and Sophie are excited and honored to bring all of their most important loved ones together to bless their bond forever.
