Michael and Sophie’s love story starts on Tinder. Late September 2020 Sophie was letting her friend Michelle swipe on her Tinder when she swiped right on Michael and it was a match! So we can all thank Michelle for bringing us together. Michael messaged Sophie a sweet (cheesy) message saying how she’s the most beautiful girl he’s ever seen and even though she was wary, she gave him her Snapchat and they started chatting away.
The first time they met Michael agreed to clean Sophie’s (very messy) car. They met at her work at the time and she gave him her keys (looking back…not a bright idea) and away he went to clean. He came back and the car was nice and clean and inside were flowers, candy and a card saying how excited he was to go on a date with her.
Alas Michael was the first one to fall for her. Always being there for her when she needed it…and didn’t. Sophie likes to say he was obsessed with her when they met…which I don’t think is an understatement. But! Michael’s adorations eventually won her over and on March 5th of 2021 they started dating!

Michael proposed on October 27th, 2022, on our trip to Florida with Sophie's Dad’s side of the family. That afternoon he told Sophie to get ready because they were going to a fancy dinner, and he picked my dress for her. Then they got in the car and started driving for a long, long time. I think it took more than an hour! They pulled up to a house which was very odd. Surprise homemade dinner? Kidnap and murder? But he said to "close your eyes" and he walked her to the backyard. From there it was a beautiful gazebo absolutely fully decorated with hearts, flowers, and a marry me sign!! He went above and beyond, and it was gorgeous. Shout out to the photographer- her and her husband set it all up and she was so lively and fun to celebrate with!
